Habitat for Humanity
MCAA/Habitat for Humanity Project
Habit For Humanity: Masonry for the Habitat houses has been completed. Thank you to all of those who donated material, equipment and labor! The exterior insulation and finish system will be installed within the next few weeks. The houses received a lot of attention nationally.
Roger Hubeli and Julie May Larsen who designed the houses through MCAA’s connection with the SU School of Architecture presented information regarding the benefits of masonry homes in Toronto, Canada to the NCMA. The interest sparked by this presentation has created opportunities for further promotion of masonry homes throughout our area and nationally. The Habitat homes have provided substantial proof that designing with masonry provides a cost effective, energy efficient and durable construction alternative to stick framed houses.
